Some rehabs are a total joke, waste of the taxpayer's money...Sequoias is right. The only way someone is to get off drugs is their determination and sole desire to stop....I've 3 relatives who were deeply involved in drugs and dealing them also...It took 10 years of prison time to get 1 off of them, even tho' he still did drugs in prison! and still it's a daily struggle for him...He had to leave the state. Same as for another relative, on drugs since a teen and now 41 years old...teeth ruined...can't get a job, convicted of welfare fraud/food stamp fraud, list goes on and on...now a homeless person....Another 1...knows how to "work the system"...still receives welfare/food stamps/aid to children...all the "bells & whistles" the State has to offer....She has been reported time and time and time again....still manages to "laugh" about how she can do drugs and get welfare aid....
Where I live, anyone with a felony record cannot live here....still there are those who know how to get around this....especially the druggies and dealers....time and time again, the police have been called...Even a 10pm curfew does not deter them from walking the streets here and trying to deal drugs....even my own boys have been offered drugs and asked if they can buy any....I even confronted 3 young men, who offered my son Pot....then I called Security....even one of my neighbors last year who smoked pot on his balcony/patio, along with several other young people...I called Security and they were evicted.....
I'm all for the drug testing here in Florida. I'm a Senior Citizen, and do not qualify for Welfare or Food Stamps....I've never received them. And I've no qualms for those who really need State Assistance, but I'll be damned if I agree for those who abuse the system by selling their Food Stamps for drugs and alcohol!...It burns me up.
