TWO KILLED RETURNING FROM DEAF AWARENESS DAY

An early morning car accident May 20 claimed the lives of two deaf men who were returning from Deaf Awareness Day at Six Flags Over Georgia. Kyle G. Redd, 18, of Jefferson, Ga., and Destin James Hattaway, 24, of Colbert, Ga. were killed when a pickup driven by Hattaway hit a tree on Georgia Highway 335 about 3 a.m. A third deaf man, Brian Taylor, 30, of Hixson, Tenn., survived the crash with critical injuries. Police believe Hattaway fell asleep at the wheel, said the Athens Banner-Herald. There was no evidence that alcohol or drug use contributed to the wreck.

Where? Brian was my friend he was the one that survived. He called me last few days ago and explained it all to me. I was shocked and been wondering it been long time I havn't heard from him. So he said he was in coma for 3 weeks then stayed in hostipal for 2 months and came home and hardly remember anything. Lucky he still remembers me. He called me on VP and told me all about it. I was shocked and glad he made it ok. At first he thought that his friends were drunk and driving but the news said the driver appearly to be sleepy while driving.
 
Don't there have near in hotel so it would be sleep in hotel then next day go home ? cuz it said sleep ? must be they were so tired!!! should have in hotel more safe ?? :dunno:

sorry to hear that 2 deaf ppl been passed away from an accident the car.
 
I couldn't find it...I remembered that news.

He is sure lucky he is alive. WOW!

Yeah he was sleeping in the back seat while it happened. Two young deafies was in the front.

My friend never miss WWE, ECW, and TNA wrestling shows... and since it happened.. he missed 1 month of their shows and he is very pissed when nurse wouldn't let him watch WWE while they have to do something to him. He was shocked about Chris Beniot news.

yea it repost, it was sad. i know destin but not whole alot. glad brian is doing good. hope he isnt feel bad for those 2...
 
I don't know any of them but NascarZing knows Brain as he just spoke to him few days ago. Perhaps he/she will answer to your question.

Just spoke with Brian recently. He's remembering things now. He read this tread. I made mistake about him sleeping in back seat. He said he was sitting in the front passenger side which the air bag saved his life. 18 yrs old kid was in the back seat. Brian said he doesnt know that 18 yrs old kid but just met him that day. Brian's best friend is the driver the one that got killed. He doesn't know what happened because he was sleeping when it all happened. Brian did mentioned that before leaving Six Flag... one hot pretty girl offered them to sleep at her house so they wouldn't be tired while driving but one of them said no but has to go home because the boy's mom want him straight home after six flag. Brian was pissed and wished they had stayed at that hot girl's home.

Sooo...that's him in a couple of your videos, cool! Nice to know he has a good friend as you! ;)

As for the offer of staying instead of driving out into the late night...that's something all parents should also consider when their own child(ren) are hanging out with their friends...in short, it's better to play it safe than to try to make the (long) drive back home. Indeed this is a terrible tragedy, one that may/could have been prevented. However, just being thankful that your friend was able to pull through this, yet, sadly enough, his friend didn't.
