Too true of today- What is the world coming to?


Subject: These Changing Times


Scenario: Jack pulls into school parking lot with rifle in gun rack.

1973 - Vice Principal comes over, takes a look at Jack's rifle, goes to
his car and gets his to show Jack.

2006 - School goes into lockdown, FBI called, Jack hauled off to jail
and
never sees his truck or gun again. Counselors called in for traumatized
students and teachers.

Scenario: Johnny and Mark get into a fist fight after school.

1973 - Crowd gathers. Mark wins. Johnny and Mark shake hands and end up
best friends. Nobody goes to jail, nobody arrested, nobody expelled.

2006 - Police called, SWAT team arrives, arrests Johnny and Mark. Charge
them with assault, both expelled even though Johnny started it.

Scenario: Jeffrey won't be still in class, disrupts other students.

1973 - Jeffrey sent to office and given a good paddling by Principal.
Sits
still in class.

2006 - Jeffrey given huge doses of Ritalin. Becomes a zombie. School
gets
extra money from state because Jeffrey has a disability.

Scenario: Billy breaks a window in his father's car and his Dad gives
him
a whipping.

1973 - Billy is more careful next time, grows up normal, goes to
college,
and becomes a successful businessman.

2006 - Billy's Dad is arrested for child abuse. Billy removed to foster
care and joins a gang. Billy's sister is told by state psychologist that
she
remembers being abused herself and their Dad goes to prison. Billy's mom
has
affair with psychologist.

Scenario: Mark gets a headache and takes some headache medicine to
school.

1973 - Mark shares headache medicine with Principal out on the smoking
dock.

2006 - Police called, Mark expelled from school for drug violations. Car
searched for drugs and weapons.

Scenario: Mary turns up pregnant.

1973 - 5 High School Boys leave town. Mary does her senior year at a
special school for expectant mothers.

2006 - Middle School Counselor calls Planned Parenthood, who notifies
the
ACLU. Mary is driven to the next state over and gets an abortion without
her
parent's consent or knowledge. Mary given condoms and told to be more
careful next time.

Scenario: Pedro fails high school English.

1973: Pedro goes to summer school, passes English, goes to college.

2006: Pedro's cause is taken up by state democratic party. Newspaper
articles appear nationally explaining that teaching English as a
requirement
for graduation is racist. ACLU files class action lawsuit against state
school system and Pedro's English teacher. English banned from core
curriculum. Pedro given diploma anyway but ends up mowing lawns for a
living
because he can't speak English.

Scenario: Johnny takes apart leftover firecrackers from the 4th of July,
puts them in a model airplane paint bottle, blows up a red ant bed.

1973 - Ants die.

2006 - BATF, Homeland Security, FBI called. Johnny charged with domestic
terrorism, FBI investigates parents, siblings removed from home, computers
confiscated, Johnny's Dad goes on a terror watch list and is never allowed
to fly again.

I disagree about the abortion part.. not every parent need to know.. you don't know what the parent's background are like.. they can be abusive or doing drugs etc.. didn't you think of that?

It's up for a woman to keep the baby, or give up for adoption or have an abortion. It's their body, their choice and their right to choose not yours!

If a woman wants an abortion, she will get one, whether or not it is legal. Remember the days of wire coat hangars!

Yes, I remember watching this film about coat hangars abortion, very interesting film to watch how women's life changed to accept today's standard at all different times.

Today teenagers girls can get abortion by popping a pill without parent's knowing, they can order from internet I think so?

Also they can order from Doctor, without parent's permission if Dr feels its sensible thing to do.

you know........regarding the whipping........yes, parents can get in a shitload of trouble for doing that. But the law is not anti spanking. It is simply anti using an instrument. Using your hand.....that's fine......but don't beat your kid. Sheesh....using a belt, hairbrush, wooden spoon etc hurts like hell!

Too sad, but true ! People changes through some kind of reasons due to environment, society and all.
I really wish these things never happened, because if it does then, it will make the laws more harder on our children and grandchildren's future. *smh* How sad !
 
True & that's the way it should be. It's getting crazy these days especially at schools. Still got a few years before my kids start school. It'll be heart breaking to see them go but yes great for them to learn & get educated. But at the same time it'll be stressful to worry about them considing even 5 year olds bring guns to school. It's even happened in Indianapolis, which is about 2 hours from me. Where I went to school at, 2 years before I went to high school. I heard someone brought a gun there at that highschool & just started shooting for fun. Didn't kill no one but could have & it was just plain stupid for him to do it just because he wanted to show off.

Peoples are always change the lives and make looking better improve stricter due general things..

Years goes always change never tend keep old things...
 
Gosh, I remember when I was in 1st grade...that had to be 1978, my teacher would spank the students for disobeying the class rules. We thought nothing of it.

I can just imagine this scenario if this happened today...my teacher spanks the student, she gets arrested and put in jail for child abuse. The media has a field day with stories of abusive teachers in the nation. The parents sue the school for emotional harm on their child. The school creates a new policy saying that any teacher physically touches any of the student will be suspended upon review.

Ahhh..I miss 1970s! Life seemed so much simpler and less complicated, heh?
