125htz and Audiograms.

Anyone know why audiogram charts have 125htz on them but the hearing test starts from 250htz?

I've never had a hearing test start from 125htz but have been told that the software for my hearing aids will allow you to put the 125htz frequency in it.

Would it make a different?
 
It's true. Audiometer can be drawn tones 125Hz.
Here in the Czech Republic makes a test to 125Hz.
Audiogram begins and ends at 60Hz 12000Hz.
Always my curve, but begins to 125Hz.
 
Do you want a nice deep bass response in music? That's going to be the most noticeable effect of altering that band. Speech isn't generally in that frequency range, which is why HAs and audiograms haven't traditionally bothered with it. It might help you understand male speakers on certain phonemes (b, g, n, m, maybe j/z).
 
I respond apparently at 65db at 125hz but no idea how cos I cannot hear a thing unaided
