    Stranger Danger!!

Tough one. Shrug your shoulders, say "I don' t know" with a smile, and walk on? You have to follow your intuition in a situation like that.

    Question:

Also look under "meet-up" in your local area. Do a search under the meet- up for "deaf" or " asl." You might find something that way. There are hundreds of different meet-up groups, with a huge variety of interests, so I would think there would be some that involve ASL.

    Tornadoes over the weekend

That is an amazing photo! Hard to say I "like" it due to the death and devastation caused by it, but the photo itself is truly superb.

    Don't go in the water

He swims in a pool that certainly is protected by chlorine in the water. So no worries. Re: open water swimming, you can always contact the local water and sanitation department and see what they are doing to measure bacteria counts. Major tourist areas will publicize the information...

Ok I didn't want to ask. lol

I'm not sure, but I think you need to post more often before you can have a blog here. Stick around, lots of good topics to comment on, and pretty soon your post count will go up.

    Newbie

Welcome! Hope you enjoy the forum. Lots of good people here, and interesting topics across the board of general and deaf interests. Do you get a chance to communicate with other ASL users very often?

Very interesting. Amazing that Password1 is so common.

Do people feel like they need to "win", have control??

It's a dance. A well -informed buyer and a well-informed seller should be able to make a fair deal. But usually, one side will have a bit more information or resources than the other.

    Siemans "Pure Carat"

Does anyone here use Siemans "Pure Carat" hearing aids? Do you like them? I just got a promotional mailer from an audiologist who is closer to me than my regular person. They are going to have a Siemans specialist come in a couple weeks and they are offering appointments. The "Pure Carat"...

What are you using now? Good to see you back, by the way. I remember you were having difficulties with your previous aids.

California Teen Leaves School,Moves in with Former Teacher

Oh, I know. I'm speaking about way back in the late '60's, early '70s. My mom and most of my friends' moms enforced a curfew as long as kids were in high school, but it was reasonable - 10:00 on school nights, midnight on "date nights." Curfew at my university (Michigan State) was 12:00...

California Teen Leaves School,Moves in with Former Teacher

That makes a difference. Also, speaking generally, a h.s. teacher could be as young as 23 or 24, right out of college, and a h.s. senior of 17 or 18 would be close enough in age, IF the relationship started after graduatioon. Depends on circumstances. This one sounds skeavy all the way around.

California Teen Leaves School,Moves in with Former Teacher

I had a curfew when I was 18, too. Didn't seem unusual at the time. It was also flexible, and was relaxed for special events like prom. Then I went off to college, and we had curfews in college, too. Man, those days seem long ago! This girl is going to find out pretty soon that the reality...

    Infiniti JX

I love Infinitis, but always end up buying a top of the line Nissan instead. The extra money for the Infinitis is too much of a stretch for me. But if you can afford it easily, they are beautiful.

Do you remember you were in 60's,70's,80's,90's,00's and what is new in 10's??

Old thread but a fun one. I've got clothes in my closet older than some of you guys! Reba and I had very similar experiences. I was born in 1950. My dad joked that it would always be easy for me to remember how old I was, born at the mid-century mark. I remember Winky Dink Saturday...

Son gives his 98 years old mom a boot out of HER house.

It said in the longer article that he has invited her to come live with him. I don't understand how he could quit-claim the house to himself and cut his brother out of his share of the inheritance. That seems odd; I didn't think you could unilaterally do that if there is another person on the...
