Back in the days when I could use a phone, I never liked it with my hearing aids. Now if I do use it, just for short and simple calls, I always use the mics. I don't find tcoil effective for phones. I do love my blackberry though - that thing is loud and wonderful! I have the newest Bold.

You have no idea what these hearing aids have done to me in the past three years...If they are working, or if they are not, there will probably some celebratory sledge hammering the minute they are replaced.

Well my friends, it has happened again. My hearing aid is possessed by some sort of hearing aid demon. I clicked my volume down button and away it went, zipping down 30dB's in record speed and then continuously beeping the "turned down all the way beep" until I turned them off. I put it back on...

I go voice off by choice in most places, especially at school. It is just easier for the same reason someone else stated, if you don't speak no one expects you to hear.

Deafness is not a dominate culture in any society but it is a strong subculture in American and Canadian society. No one is trying to claim Deafness as a dominate culture.
