    Spoooooooky stuff...

This stuff is right up my alley! I have had a few experiences of my own, and have always loved ghost stories, both real and fictional. Not the newer authors like Stephen King or Koontz, but the old classics, stories like "The Turn of the Screw" by Henry James, those are the kind that I like to...

    Revised! Poem: "Sister"

In today's paper is the story of a murder-suicide, husband beat wife to death with a hammer, then killed himself. Two children in the house at the time. That is what this poem made me think of. It is beautiful, but the part about the mother's screams...that makes it all come together. I...

    visit New York City

I absolutely LOVE the shore and resort beach towns in the winter months.. Yes, it is cold, gray, windy, and you will freeze your butt off...but there is just something about it, going to a place that at other times is so crowded and sunny and full of life, and seeing it desolate and empty...

    Banjo's Wedding Highlights

Wow, great pictures and video - though the video was a little choppy for me, is it supposed to be that way? You both look beautiful and happy and I wish you the best!!

    Deaf norms

I agree with Rebecca. He probably found you so incredibly attractive that he could not bear to take his eyes off of you, even after the normal polite deaf person's timing rule for eye contact had run out. He is still a man, after all, and men are very visual creatures to begin with, no matter...

    Abandoned Buildings & Sites

Awesome thread! I love visiting places like this, there are a few in my area, old abandoned mental institutions, old mills in the Pine Barrens, etc. Here is a cool website: Opacity - Abandoned Photography and Urban Exploration

    How do you sign...

Hello, I am teaching myself as well, until I have the time for actual classes. Signing Savvy is great for learning vocabulary, but in the end, all you will have is a bunch of signs for different words, and though it is good to know the signs, signs alone do not a language make. In fact, many...

    Interpreter Requirements

One would still think you would need a little more extensive education in ASL to become certified interpreter, because interpreting can be a serious thing, especially in the medical field...Depending on how things go, I would like to get certified, and do more with ASL in my nursing career, and...

    What camera do you use?

yes, popular because it is much easier, and of course the instant gratification of having your pictures right away...and the savings on not having to develop worthless shots, you just erase the bad stuff. But, I kind of like the wait to get one's pictures, the anticipation to see how they came...

    What camera do you use?

    Who got snow?

I'm in the northeast, they are saying about 2" starting at around 1am and continuing into tomorrow....but I just walked the dogs and all the stars are out. So we'll see....just in case I stocked up on dog food, cat food, coffee, bagels, butter, milk and 2 family size boxes of Captain Crunch.

    Relationships ?

When I was in school I remember kids being picked on, and for all kinds of reasons, sometimes just because of the way they looked - I didn't play a role in the abuse, but I wish I had done something about it. I think back now and wish I had had the guts to stand up for them, or to make friends...

From a Deaf Perspective: Express it as it is for you.

Thanks! Still, a little early for me to have a very good understanding of the deaf experience. My exposure to the deaf culture has been limited, unless you want to count the several times in Philadelphia when i was approached by someone who wanted to give me the deaf alphabet on a little piece...

Please help me choose a phone : )

I have the ETC Hero, which i don't really like, but I do like Sprint - much better than Verizon. For $69.99 a month unlimited email, internet, texting, phone calls to other cell phones, etc. Great plan. Can't wait to get rid of the phone, though, won't be able to upgrade for another 7 months...

Was Pres Lincoln a racist or a prodcut of his era

At the time, it probably would have been the best thing to do for America, and maybe even what many of the freed slaves would have wanted...though I don't think Africa would have wanted them back, at the time the country was one of I think only 2 countries still active in selling slaves - I...

    What camera do you use?

My digital is an old Canon PowershotA20...works great. My brother is really into everything new that comes out, and I wind up with his old stuff. My other camera is a Canon Rebel EOS, was a birthday gift from Mom about 7-8 yrs ago. The Rebel is not digital, though there is a Rebel that is both...

    hello, jiro

i think matajan is probably not who he portrays himself to be...most likely he's some lonely (and hearing) socially rejected teenage dweeb from New Jersey, and he's having fun with you all. There is just no way he can be for real. (I can poke fun at New Jersey because I live there too)
