    What is "cued speech"?

AKA "Cross Modality"...the ability to transfer from one language to another, fluently.

    What is "cued speech"?

Cue speech should be called Phonetic Cues. In fact, I'm going to start calling it that. I will make lots of money some day for that name. Hmm. *ego big head me (ASL sign)*

    What is "cued speech"?

One of the pros of cue speech in U.S. is that it only takes about 30-50 hours (average) for a person to learn cue speech, so I bet parents will pick it up faster than they would ASL or signed English. I promote ASL, obviously. But I'm also realistic in the fact that we do a crappy job of...

    What is "cued speech"?

Kids who are fluent in ASL often do very well in English, because of cross-modality. Cue speech = dictionary. I like that analogy.

    What is "cued speech"?

And by the way, I support cue speech (they should have named it differently). But I do NOT support the National Cue Speech Association. They got it all wrong. :(

    What is "cued speech"?

I firmly believe that cue speech is the diamond in the rough for true bilingual education for deaf children, as it can be used to enable the cross modality of English and ASL. I would even go as far as say it is a key that has been lost...but unfortunately we do not have data to see if it...

What did you do today? Part II

Took my kid to Urgent Care for seizures and high fever. Fun times...not. Only had a total of 1.5 hours of sleep, so I'm really in a bitchy mood today.

YouTube - Broadcast Yourself. Not subtitled, but to be fair, not all of our written English posts are translated into ASL either. I wonder if he is a member on AD. :)

Does anyone else feel like their life was ruined by mainstream school

All I have to do is copy and paste DeafRaptor's story, tweak it just a little, and there' s my life. I used to think I was alone, too, but Alldeaf has helped me see there are others out there. We should have a club, lol

What did you learn today? Part II

I'm up all night, with a sick kid. I've been crying constantly, so much that I've ruined my pillow, over my sisters, aunt, and cousin's deaths/illnesses plus dealing with family who insists on treating me like crap. I'm ruining my own pity party lol... Fever is still 103...she often gets...

    How do you choose-

From the south. I use the butter knife or a thin spatula for all. I am attempted to use a spoon for the Nutella- I seriously can eat the whole jar. It's the food for my soul. Damn. Now I want some.

    MAC users suck....

I guess I suck. Thank goodness Macs were donated so every high school student at my school could personally keep a Macbook to and from school.

    Woot! The World Series

Sadly, I wouldn't know...I shouldn't even be in this thread. I go to the game to drink beer, eat hot dogs, and pretend I know why people are cheering. It's my patriotic duty. *embarrassed grin*
