I WAS THE SAME WAY with my phonic ear....moving around too much would lead to the cord to my aid popping out also popping my ears too....argh hated it.....I also hated when other hoh or deaf children would be funny about it and poke your hearing aid like it was a big joke....I'm like that's...

Hey Melissa, I think after the phonic ear that I had, I had the more modern aid where you wear it around your waist and it was smaller....did you have that @smaller beige box (fm radio aid) I don't think I had lights on mines. Oh but I do recall, that I always had to have the teacher mic to...

Headphones attached to a box....was that the phonic ear.....Oh God I used to hate that myself....that beige instrument!! LOL Sorry your experience turned out slightly negative in school but either way we prevailed!!!!

Understandable@all you said. I am curious because I did read about this somewhere and saw a reality show of True Life on MTV about this. From what I heard the guy say on the show was Deaf/HOH community don't accept anyone that is CI. Is that true? And why is that? I just don't understand.

Deafskeptic, my parents didn't want me to learn sign...well not like AT ALL. But prior to me not hearing, I was a speaking young little girl and they wanted me to regain my speech back before I learned ASL. By the time I was ready to learn ASL in school, kids who were hard of hearing and deaf...

Wow, totally uncool on that note but you ARE right! There are plenty of Deaf/HOH's on here that discuss music in the threads as well as everything else. Just because some of us can't hear doesn't mean we can't really "hear" it! Oh and thank you for the suggestion to get the Deaf-World...

OMG YES!! Or them (meaning my boyfriend for one) getting irritated when I couldn't hear him the first two times...he's more understanding though but still...sheeeit!
