    ASL in public schools??

    :bowdown: Some general thoughts about ASL... If it is to be offered in a high school setting, offer it as an elective. I can't see ASL being offered as a class in primary settings (i.e., elementary schools) because most states have standardized curriculums and testing in place, and adding in...

    Florida public schools

    When you do move back to Miami-Dade and enroll your children into your community school, you should request an evaluation if your child has never had an IEP. If your child has had an IEP with MDCPS, then I guess an evaluation isn't necessary. At the IEP, you can ask for speech and itinerant...

    Sonic Boom Alarm Clock?

    I don't know if you have Avon in your area; but this is what I use: Alarm Clock with Vibration I love this vibrating clock. Pretty neat! Also, if you have a Blackberry, you can set it to vibrate to wake you up every morning. I used my Blackberry for this purpose, until I got the Avon clock.

    C++ and C# Programming

    I have a pretty good deal of experience and understanding of C; but haven't programmed in it for a long time. One favorite trick is to use the Char variable as a Byte value. I'm learning C# now on my own initiative and time. It's been difficult, though. There's a lot of new programming...

    Do you watch ASL Blogs/Vlogs on YouTube?

    I do watch some ASL vlogs, but gotta admit that some commentators run too long. :( ASL vlogs are not like podcasts; a hearing person can listen to a podcast and 'multitask', i.e., working on the computer, cleaning dishes, etc. With ASL vlogs, I've gotta watch it, and am judicious of my time now...

    Are you famailar with CSS Coding?

    The table tag was originally designed for columnar data. That web designers are using it to layout their pages truly smacks of fitting a round peg into a square hole! :) I have worked with CSS code before, but nothing really complex. I prefer to use existing layouts and tweak a little here...

    Delight at the closure of deaf support centre

    Would you rather that they be placed in a Varying Exceptionalities (VE) classrooms? (For those who don't know, they're self-contained classrooms populated by students having the same disability, i.e., a Deaf classroom. And as you can infer from my tone, I'm admittedly not much of a fan of VE...

    Returning a Car

    Want a Q&D method in finding out how much a new car loses its value once it is 'driven off the lot'? Look at the lease downpayment requirements; essentially, it's to cover the 'hidden' depreciation charge the car suffers once 'bought'. Of the lease terms I've been looking at for new cars, most...
