Mine too.. I found out though, that if the signal is highly compressed you don't lose as much residual hearing. It seems to depend on how non-linear the algorithm is.

Yea .. it's a sort of white noise thing that stops the ringing. You don't really hear it unless it's really quiet :)

There's an option on Chilis that will allow you to put them on standby with the big button. Maybe you can do that With Safaris as well, might be worth checking with the audi. Have you tried something like Ear Gear? if you pull the sock over the compartment it might prevent the battery cover...
