    Hello all!! minnesota guy here

I learned about Sprint Text Relay on AllDeaf too, in 2014. It has helped me a lot! I now use it everywhere. I call to doctors, to IRS, to customer services and so on. No more dependent on someone hearing.

That is exactly my story too. I'm taking ASL-1 at college right now. Have made a lot of improvement, and it is now helping me to establish connections with the Deaf world.

What did you learn today? Part II

So when is the starting date? before or after the eclipse? If before, then they probably want to make some astronomy classes, if after, then probably they understand that a lot of people are going to take time off to view it :) Anyway, I checked, the total eclipse won't be visible in California.

What do you do in your spare time?

I was on your place before. I had no opportunity to learn ASL before, was too busy. We just moved to the United States 5 years ago, and basically were surviving first 3 years. Now things have changed a lot. I too, thought there are not much events and socials. But there are PLENTY! Look for...

    Hoh mum, hearing kids

You definitely need to educate your kids. They are not just your children, they are members of the society - we have enough impatient, judgemental, intolerant people. If we want to change the world - we should change ourselves. I wouldn't be so nice, if any member of my family would be...

    Students Looking for ASL buddies

In Glide you can review the video several times, and make pauses when they fingerspell :) I don't like Skype, because you have to set the time for a call, in Glide you can message, and view the message anytime.

Hearing girl looking to make new friends and learn asl!~

Hello everybody! Besides the ASL, do you learn Deaf culture? I find it very important to learn too, along with ASL skills. I'm currently reading a book, called "For Hearing People Only", and highly recommend reading it.

What do you do in your spare time?

I'm deaf, I don't consider myself Deaf yet, because I'm not fluent in ASL. However I'm actively learning ASL now, and seeking for Deaf events around. I found that there is a Deaf church close to my home, and will be joining them to make new connections. There are also few Deaf events every...
