Get ATT to make Relay Call when calling you back?

The fact that my question is about them making a RELAY CALL TO MY LANDLINE seems to have slipped through the cracks. Annie, are you familiar with Relay and the use of VCO (where the person needing the captions talks for themself). That is what I am wanting to get them to do. When I make a...

    Rechargeable Hearing Aids

But don't you ever run out of battery charge unexpectedly? With separate batteries you can just change the dead battery and go on your merry way still hearing. Where when the whole hearing aid has to be taken out to recharge you are out of luck hearing in that ear until it recharges. That is...

Get Relay Call from AT T

Does anyone know of a way to get AT T to make a Relay Call to you? I am working on something and they call me back on my landline with voice NOT Relay no matter how many times I have asked even after being switched to many different departments.

Netflix doesn't like hearing impaired people, not the captioning part, but read on my experience recently.

I don't remember seeing this at the time Red Iron Horse posted their story. But, even if too late to help with this particular instance maybe this will help with other phone contact problems. If you have a smartphone type of cell phone and can talk for yourself just not hear what the other...

    Deaf in Nashville

The person/people that took the car may have thought the hearing aid was an ear phone. A delivery driver that brought me things the other day had one one that looked so much like either bte hearing aid or a CI processor that I asked her about it. It was an ear phone for her cell phone etc!

A Thread About Absolutely Nothing! Part III

I am picky about the fit of shoes and by having them feel right in the store have not had a problem with blisters from new shoes. During a trip where I was visiting a cousin that had a connection to a shoe store I planed to buy some. Then I had a problem with the ones I had with me and wound up...

I don't know for sure as I have none. BUT without a photo of you that shows the piercing I don't think anyone can answer this.

    Embarassing lip reading moments!

This reminds me of a book I bought years ago by Henry Kisor. "What's That Pig Outdoors". The title comes from a mis-lipreading of "What's that big loud noise." In the preface he suggests you say it in front of a mirror. To the lipreader "What's that big loud noise" looks exactly like "What's...

This quote from an article about International Sign Language may help you understand better what I was trying to say. "International Sign requires its speakers to have a knowledge of other sign languages; it doesn’t really work without knowledge of at least one of the more expansive signed...

    Cochlear Implants

I am yet another one that took some classes but made no contacts to actually use it with. That was back in the 1980's and two different semester long evening classes through Kaskaskia College, the local community college. I have posted about that previously and found a longer post last night...

    Cochlear Implants

You are right in what you say about it being "authentic". But it feels to me like he would have more people understanding what he is saying, even if not agreeing, if he would give a real explanation.

No you can't communicate with EVERYONE on this planet. They have to know that same sign language you are using.

    Cochlear Implants

I read posts by so many that find a CI very helpful. Please what makes you consider it a "catastrophic failure"? I have read this type of opinion from you for years but it is always lacking WHY. Remember also that not everyone is able to live in an area where your beloved ASL is actually...

    Rechargeable Hearing Aids

What turns me off of the idea a rechargeable aids is I can think of not way you can use them to hear and recharge at the same time. You need two sets to keep from having to go with out aid at times.

Wow! Been a long time! I joined here in 2006

Shel so many thanks for starting this thread!!! You have gotten so many of the old timers to appear. I am an "in betweener" compared to a number showing up having jointed in 2011. I do miss much of the old site and still feel that the banning was taken toooo far. I don't know if any of you...

    Chose a mode of transportation???

It looks like it is time to follow LoveBlue to the train. I have been seeing report after report of cancellations by airlines but NOTHING about train problems! Maybe LoveBlue can give us some hints about the most enjoyable way to take advantage of that!
