Son killed mother in argument over college grades, sheriff says

Maybe you can put her on ignore if that bothers you. This is unnecessary to spew out like this... you should tell her in PM instead of public forum. This is getting silly here.

Laura only stated that she disagreed... it's not hard to agree/disagree in a civil manner.

Agree/disagree isn't matter to me but if she tell me that I condone the murder - that's irritate me.

I PMed her before but no response. I don't pay attention to her unless she respond my post.

Haters are going hate, anyway.

According to academic calendar, the grade due on April 29 via online.

It looks like he has poor grades and don't want show to his mother.

In most cases, parents will usually stop funding the college education if students don't get good grade but I don't know about how his mother handle, possibly much worse.

When murder is involved so it must be worst action, if not so it could be mental illness.

Most mental illness went undetected until tragic occurred.

Well...if I funded my son's college education, and he made poor grades...of course I would be highly upset!...All parents want their child to succeed...
Another example...I carry my youngest son on my car insurance policy...cheaper for him. a little more for me. And the only rule I ask....No Tickets and No Accidents...or I'll cut you right off....He knows I would do it, pronto...

And still, for him to commit violence against me?...No way.

Laura's statement is right... he should't have picked up a baseball bat to kill his own mother for any reason. Nothing to do about school, it's his temper and action is inexcusable.

If she didn't reply to you, it may be the best to leave her alone.

No, he shouldn't have picked up a baseball bat to his mother regardless of his school situation.

Same with my sister - she made poor grade due to excessive partying and my parents no longer funded her anymore, of course they upset but my sister didn't care at all. She is pretty mentally stable but she has some episode of depression that is not threat to others but she's tough to everyone.

I don't know about what happened to this son who murdered his mother so that why I was shocked about this news.

I don't condone the murder but I like to analyze about various events with son's behaviors - to discuss much deeply and this son has no common sense.

Mentally stable person will simply walk away if parents no longer cover the college education. I know parents are very upset because they felt that money are wasted.

I personally believe that college education should be free like other countries.

I know but I don't excuse his action nor condone the murder.

I was just analyze his cases and tell about possibility that he should think twice before commit murder. It is just like saying - "Oh, this son should move out and work at fast food instead of go to university and depends on parents".

I'm very upset that I have to pay for his imprisonment for rest of life so cost of imprisonment is much expensive than stay at nice hotel.

And believe they found the Mother in the back yard....seems she was running from him ?? ...:hmm:
And since he was the "only child"...don't believe the Mother would verbally abuse him enough for him to kill her....
Could be he was on drugs and not studying....or...he just couldn't hack it and felt inferior and didn't want the parents to know...but they found out....

Whatever the case, it's a sad day when a child actually kills a parent(s)...Feel his rage had been building a long time...not at his Mother...but himself....

I understand that, but every parents wants their children to succeed, not fail. It's not the school's fault that student fails.. parents support their children to succeed in paying for their college tuition. It would make very parents upset if their kid fails in class. There is no reason to pick up a bat and kill his mother just because of his grades. He may want to be independent but every parents want to support their children regardless.

It is a very sad situation that 2 members of the family is lost (one murdered and one likely end up in prison for a very long time). This is devastating for a family to deal with.

I'm sure that his father is extremely distressed for rest of his life.

His mother died and this son in state prison so his father lost all of family.

If my sister killed my parents so I don't think that I will be here anymore - too much to handle.

There is also the matter that she works during the week. Her post was made on Sunday. So she may still reply to the PM in question.
