I am just looking to make friends in the deaf community. There isn't a lot of options around here to network. There are only 2 deaf clubs within 50 miles of me. Both seem to be for the older crowd.

I am 28 and am looking to chat with those around my age so there is more to talk about than Reagan's administration...lol. Anyone know of a group or just random people in the St. Louis area?

:welcome: to AllDeaf forum. If you can not get into the Deaf Clubs, then you might as well as use the discussion forum and talk to us, Deafies. We also have hearing people who are parents of deaf children or want to be interpreters or just curious and browse along with us and post. Just have fun reading and posting all the threads here. See you around here.

St. Louis has a large deaf community that is both the "golden oldies" and the younger crowd. I left that area 7-8 months ago. I also know that at least 5 movie theaters have deaf movie nights and captioned movies.

Welcome to AllDeaf!!

I used to get a newsletter in my email about the captioned movies and deaf movie nights each month that went on in St. Louis. I can't remember where I found the link to sign up, but around St. Louis are all these little "towns" and movie theaters were in these little areas, but yes - St. Louis can be a paradise of sorts. There was also at least 8-10 different Deaf Coffee Social places around town on different nights. I never went since St. Louis was still 40-50 miles away and I really didn't know any ASL.
