I was browsing around youtube because I'm kind of pushing myself with my new CI and starting to be able to hear music a little. So I was searching for songs I knew from back in the days when I could hear before going deaf. It's such an awesome feeling to be able to hear some music again, but that's a different discussion.
Anyway, I found out that many of the have captioning now. I think it's using the new voice recognition to accomplish it or at least the new "Automatic timing".
Here's an example. Go to the below link and let the video play a few seconds. You'll see that there is no captioning. But click the link above the video that says "Watch with Lyrics" and it'll add captioning to the video. It's not perfect yet but not bad. Definitely a step in the right direction.
I forget this automatically embeds the video in the post. So you'll have to open it by clicking the "click here to open in new window" link above the video.
