Before you start typing, this isn't a joke.

How do Deaf/HH people tell if someone is yawning or screaming? I've yawned around one of my deaf friends, and she gave me an odd look. Is it possible that they get the two confused?

No

If you politely cover your mouth with your hand when you yawn then problem solved.

This is what I do if yawn around people but my dog doesn't seen to mind if I don't. Marty did yawn the other day and I yawned after him I guess this mean I really care about my doggie ! :giggle:

I'll throw a sock in your mouth when you yawn, problem solved.

Why do people yawn? Why do they scream? Does it not make sense that there would be more facial and body clues then just a dropped jaw?

I'm sure that's one reason but I've read that when one person (or animal) yawns, many times other people will yawn reflexively without thinking about it or really needing to.

I'm posting anyway even though some people will never see it- it's a nice bit of info

I'm quoting you even though I know it still won't be seen. ;)

I imagine a certain poster must get terribly bored with so many on her :ahem: ignore list.

If you drop something heavy on your foot I would think there be a lot of verbal clues to show you're not yawning .
