XML vs. PDF

TrendWatch Graphic Arts today released a new report which analyzes the critical issues associated with cross-media publishing. According to the report, cross-media publishing has become a substantial portion of project work for ad agency (64%) and catalog publishers (72%). As a result, there's become increasing demand upon publishing vendors to provide production tools which simplify and accelerate cross-media production.

I do know lot of PDF are use for printing but XML? Please... I don't think so!

I have been experience thru printing, they always use PDF for proof-reading and printing on most newspaper. Plus, pretty friendly for better view and less bytes thru email. I can see that XML are cheaper than PDF, I think, isn't it? If I read correct. It would be nice. But watch out on Acrobat 6.0. I know, it's annoying to have upgrade on Acrobat Reader 6 which will come up soon. oh well...
 
I like PDF cuz it's pretty much exactly what's been inserted.
