Would you use a sign language translator glove that translates finger spelling to text and speech?

Hi everyone! I am doing research about how to bridge the communication gap between deaf and hearing people and I would like to know if you would be willing to try using a sign language translator glove if it were properly made? Please respond with a yes or a know and then a short explanation if you would like to share any advice. Thanks!

Just to understand, who is wearing the glove? I'm assuming the deaf person? And then that glove that was spelling, translates into text and speech for a hearing person to hear? Please clarify.

Yes, you are correct. Sorry I didn't make myself clear.

The idea is nice, but I honestly don't see myself (I'm deaf) wearing a glove while signing. It seems awkward? But that's just me.

i dont think i would wear it as it would make it difficult to sign while wearing a glove. just my thoughts

No. ASL is way to nuanced with classifiers and contextual clues for this to work. The only way that I could see this working is if the standard was SEE. But it's not. And ASL signers don't use word for word translations of things. It's a very English idea of language. I think anyone who actually understood sign language would realize that it's not possible for a computer to conceptualize visual information into a thought when ASL is so visually conceptual.
