I would want to get a hearing dog someday, because I cannot use the strobe on the fire alarm...the strobe blinds me. Especially if I've been sleeping in a dark room and all of a sudden the alarm strobe goes off! Every single time, I have always had difficulty finding the door out of my room when it goes off! (I had to deal with that crap at the stupid state school for the deaf) It always took me a good 2 minutes or more before I find the damn door! So, I would rather have a dog. A dog can alert me to a fire if I am sleeping, it will wake me up and I will be able to know what is wrong and be able to get out of the house in MUCH less time, to safety!
