Well, i think its fine for people who live alone...especially at night if they dont have hearing aids on, or are deep sleepers who may not wake up to flashing lights or whatever..I dont need one now as i have hearing husband and a dog in the house..I have a friend who lives in Colorado that trains hearing dogs (she is HOH and used to be an interpreter). So in my opinion, it really depends if they need one.
