Honestly, I think it´s not necassary to have hearing dog...
I was grow up with dogs to know them very well. They barked straight way when the door ring or someone come down or up..... What they doing is enough for me... They know I´m deaf because they want to tell me something then do with their claws on my leg or hand.
I beleive the dog is suitable to acompany the blind people.
oh no... I think it´s waste of time to train the dog to be hearing dog because they will be become pet to receive the loving from their owner...
It´s normally for cats sit & wait then call "miaw" for their owner to open the door but my 17 years old cat Sussi didn´t but jump up to the window to make us notice her. As you see that the pets know you are deaf when they live with you for years...
