Anyone interested in buying clothes for their kids from this site?

FLDS Dress

This is from the cult that was just in the news? Probably I would not want to support them with my purchases giving them profit. Some of the clothes would probably appeal to little girls who are fixated on the American Girl books.

I am all for modesty. Just not cults.

Well, Bad teenager should wear them because their clothes show bad example. Too many teenager didn't gradute. I heard that one high school in colorado make all student to wear plain shirt with plain pant. I saw them. wow I really hate see boys show their underwear that pant goes low. that turn me offfffffff!

No..that is the way extreme side of the spectrum. I wouldnt buy sexy clothes for my kids but I wouldnt buy these either. Just a nice simple shirt and shorts would do.

I wouldn't buy those clothes for my children. While it may be appropriate for some but for others, it isn't.

I'm all about dressing up into trend and also into comfort. It doesn't have to be extreme, raunchy, sexy or clothes that basically covers all of your skin. The simplicity of clothes will do. To dress in moderation is ok rather than having one side to another.

Yes, this is how they earn money for the FLDS group.

I would not purchase any items from the website. One - it reminds me of that "cult" family on TV and what they do. Two - freedom of expression is eliminated if worn those types of clothing. Three - damn ulgy

I love the kids' clothes. If i have a kids. I will dress them a cool and style. I don't accept the plain or boring clothes for my future kids. I like to be show off for my kids wear.

I will not let my kids wear a gothic, punk, freak, cults and slut. But in my past teen kid. I wore a tomboy for one year. I wore a bright punk and freak for once year. I used to be hippy.

I will not let my boy wear show boxer or brief with pant down. This is for PIMP! I want my boy to wear a skateboard clothes! If it's in style for next decade. I will let him choice what he want. If he learn from other friends at school. I don't want my kids look like a NERD clothes! LoL

You mean Colorado State must have all kids to wear plain skirt with plain pant?? It sound strict! Can you show me where did you get this information from? I want to read it. I don't like the plain clothes. It's sound control. I don't want my kids to be plain clothes because it's control them. I prefer for my kids to wear cool and styles clothes with color whatever they want. Because I love COLOR!!!!

No, those have to do with their religion, so no I wouldn't buy it. I don't want to seem like I belong to a religion.

I think it's a great idea for kids to wear uniforms in school. I think a lot of kids in school have peer pressure to wear the right style. By your clothes, some kids judge who you are by your style. I don't like girls who wear bra that shows or really short shorts. That includes the boys wearing jeans below their waist that shows their underwear.

I have read of a school who changed to uniforms and their school improved. Violence in their school was reduced. Uniforms is a way for kids to see past fashions and a way to focus more than their fashion and how cool they look.

Interesting article and also posts as well...

There're very common in Germany to buy similar like that for babies/toddlers. It's normal to me... :dunno:

Example what I had for my boys when they were babies/toddlers... I picked some up from that link.

Baby Onesie Shirt
Baby Boy Overalls
Baby Trousers (Jeans)
Onesie Undershirt (underwear)
Undershirt/Leggins In a set (underwear)
Sleepers With Feet (very common in Germany)
Boys Knit Jumpsuit (I knitted similar like this)

It's comfortable to wear for babies/toddlers... :dunno:

Honestly, it has nothing do with religion but neutral and comfortable.

Yes I has to agree that school uniforms are the best. There're only England who have school uniforms in many states. I do wish EU countries copied British's example... Oh well.. I wore school uniform when I was school.

The people in the link pictured are mormons or members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. They conform to this type of clothing lifestyle to meet their standard of modesty. That's what it means FLDS. I dont' know what the 'F' stands for. If you go to this link FLDS Dress you will read what it's about. They don't wear our normal everyday clothing. They conform to long skirts or dress and modest tops. They do also sew their clothes as you can see in the background of the pics.

I don't know if this religion is in Germany, but this lifestyle is seen a lot where I live in certain areas. I have seen a few Amish or Menonites in certain areas that's not Amish community. Mennonites like this picture:

See the Duggars family who have 18 children? http://www.duggarfamily.com/photos.html They are Mormons and dress like that. I saw some of the girls know how to sew, so they make their own clothing that's normally not what we see in stores.

Normally, where I live, you know that they belong to a religion by the way they dress because women don't wear pants, and they look obviously different in modesty.

I guess that I should have emphasized the FLDS connection more because some posters are not getting the point. It's not the clothing per se but who is making the clothing, and where the money goes.

FLDS Opens Clothing Line

Flowing prairie dresses fascinated many during polygamist raid.

Now, you too can dress like a polygamist wife.

One of the most noteworthy facets of the recent debate over the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ polygamist ranch near Eldorado was the colorful floor length prairie dresses worn by women who are FLDS members. Now a group of FLDS women have opened a site to sell authentic FLDS pastel colored FLDS childrens prairie dresses on line.

"Our motive is not to flaunt ourselves or our religion before the world," said FLDS member Maggie Jessop. "We have to make a living the same as everyone else does."

The venture started as a way for Child Protective Services case workers to obtain clothing for the more than 450 children who were seized from the ranch in April and held in foster homes for two months. But now that the children are back with their parents, the FLDS says continued interest in the sect's unique clothing has prompted them to continue offering the clothing to the public.

Jessop says items for sale range from dresses to the overalls worn by the men to baby clothing. The web site features smiling photographs of FLDS children modeling the clothing. She says the line will be expanded to include adult clothing if there is demand....
