Especially talking with my son on the telephone, I repeat whatever I think he said, which often gets giggles. I also have to frequently remind him to speak directly and loudly into the receiver. He has high-functioning autism, so there are communication problems on his part. Hopefully soon we will have other ways to communicate.
Repeating back the order should be standard for anyone.
