Did any members attend?...Heard it was awesome....

My Mom went to DC. She thought it was great and to her relief there wasn't any violence.

I'm amazed though at how this took off and marches even took place in other countries.

And I can't help but shake my head at how the press secretary didn't even respond to the protests and instead accused the media of false inauguration turnouts. This is going to be an interesting 4 years, if Donald can last that long.

The problem I had and have is that the Pro-Life Ladies were not allowed, even tho' they did support a lot of the other causes...anyway...good to know of no violence...No cost to the taxpayer?...Oh yes there is...a huge clean-up. I do feel that any Marchs or Protests, the participants should be held accountable for the clean up and any damage.

My favorite protester

LOL
I shouldn't be so quick to laugh, for this is the new generation.
Already I have respect for her.
(Kudos to her father.)

I wish that I could attend the women march but I was busy and had schedule conflict.

I'm glad about there is no arrest at women march in DC, even no violence reported.

Worst one will be littering (especially if there is no trash or trash is full), so DC has own funding to clean up during night, I believe.

Speaking about violence on Friday, businesses usually have insurance to cover on damage and the money will be paid back via restitution if violators are caught.

Have read that there were no arrests in the DC march. Apparently the story is that many of the signs in the DC march were placed specifically there (I forget where now) in an attempt to continue their statement. I don't know if organizers will come back tomorrow to clean up. A friend said that in Portland it was clean-- all they found after the march was a lone little abandoned coffee cup.

What amazed me was that there were marches on ALL 7 continents... yep including Antarctica- a small 'march' on a boat lol.

I would have, but I have responsibilities to take care of. I understand the need for women's issues to be heard, but gosh Madonna, she's making it more difficult for us. I mean the election is over? We need to work with what this country elected into office.

I was unhappy when Obama was elected. So were many other people but you didn't see us marching and crying over a democratically elected president. No, we bit our tongues and accepted it. I guess it was too much for the other side to show the same maturity.BTW....is Madonna even a US citizen anymore? She lives in England.

This thread isn't directly related to Obama nor Trump, it is all about women's rights. Again, we aren't allowed to talk about Obama or Trump in this forum.

There were conservatives whoever upset with Obama - you forgot about Tea Party protest. That's no difference. Again, most of time, women's march isn't directly related to our presidents, that's separate issue about awareness of women's rights.

Madonna is US citizen and it doesn't go away if she lives in UK, even she can still vote via absentee ballot for US if she is in UK, that's legal.

What are protestors expecting the congress to do?

Most part, women's march isn't about pro or anti-government.

It is up to the Congress to listen and not restrict on women's rights or they could lose the vote in 2018 and 2020.

I was there in the DC March. The organizers for the march had to have a clean up crew in place in order to get the permits. Besides, 95% of DC was clean. The areas where the trash bins were messy due to all of the trash bins being full and overflowing.

No violence, no arrests, no destruction of property,a nd everyone was WONDERFUL!!! It was the most amazing experience and I would do it again.

Oh, I am sorry that Obama ran a campaign insulting and threatening to take away your rights. He shouldnt have done that.

Happy to hear that (clean up crew)...

There was hardly any trash left on the grounds. Just only around the full trash bins. Other than that, DC was clean as a whistle.

Besides, I dont understand all the complaints about the trash because it is not a new thing whenever there are huge events in cities. Just puzzling on what the huge outrage was.

if this is true, I apologize. I had no idea speaking about Trump and Obama wasn't allowed. Sorry

That's alright, political discussion isn't allowed in this forum since 2012, but important, just don't go too far.
