Woman used a pepper spray to cut in line up during Black Friday Shopping

Crazy.

So, I wanted a new sewing machine to replace mine that is broken. (Too expensive to fix.) They had Brothers on sale for only $49 (which is freaky!) at Walmart starting 10 pm last night. We went there about 11:30 pm. They hadn't even brought them out yet. And the store was wall-to-wall people. I was flabbergasted. I do NOT do Black Friday shopping for this very reason. So we left. My crazy honey's brother went shopping. He heard we didn't get the sewing machine. He went back to Walmart at 1 am and got it. Still had to wait 2 hours in line. He didn't get to bed until the early hours. Oy vey. But I now have a new sewing machine !!!

what is wrong with people?!

when I was in NY visiting husbands family for Thanksgiving, we heard on the news about a woman trampled to death after being knocked down trying to get in Wal-mart!

horrible! :pissed:

I don't go to these Black Friday openings. Completely insane and it can even create unsafe situations. (see #4).....

I shop online on Mondays, Canada usually doesn't have black Fridays (a few stores are starting) and I hate crowds. Cyber Mondays have good prices as well.

Walmart= "It's what everything cheap and wrong"

Best Buy and Future Shop here in Canada follow a different system. You see, when people line up outside prior to the opening, they are given tickets to claim their merchandises. First come, first serve. It works much better this way, and it's also much safer. Better than having a thousand people standing at the sliding doors and trampling all over each other. All of the people at both stores have to form a line rather than huddled up at the doors.

Same here for Best Buy. They give out tickets for who want that item before they enter. Target only bring in 30 people at each time, not all at once. When we went in, it wasn't that crowded and everyone got their deals pretty much. Wal-mart we went, was far awful! We had to squeeze thru the crowds!

Walmart is the same here as well, they have to change that.

Haven't people die as a result of stampedes at Walmart in the past?

yes, I remember that one. Lots of shootings in various cities that have Wal-Marts on the news today. *shudders* Glad nothing happened when I went there. They seem kinda cooperative but was pretty crowded.

I went to Target today to get the Black Friday prices...I had to get a ticket to get the DS3D game. Waited in line for an hour to get it and by the time I got to the cashier, my daughter wanted the camera she has been wanting since she spotted it at 75% off so I told the cashier to add the camera. She said she wasnt supposed to and that I was supposed to get a ticket for that and I was like ohhh ok but then she changed her mind, breaking the policy, and the woman behind me started screaming and yelling at me about trying to cheat. Two employees had to rush to her to calm her down so I got my two items and left the store in ahurry before I got my butt kicked. ooops!

That is one of many, many reason I do not do Black Friday shopping. Ever. Even though the sales look tempting but the people surrounding me in not so ideal situation like that, forget it!

That old hag ought to have pepper sprayed in her face.

I did try black friday shopping in 2006, 2007 before the going got as big. Since 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, the crowd grows bigger and bigger each year. Last night I wandered around Walmart, Best buy, there were like thousands of people at both. The line at Best Buy started on tues/wednesday.

That was the last time I was going to camp out there to get something for $100-$200 cheaper. If we counted the hours spent waiting in line.. I camped around 20 hours.. at minimum wage I would have earned most of that money! $160!

:laugh2:

The other people in line were cool about it except for her. She was the only one with a cart overflowing with stuff so it was apparent she was a serious Black Friday shopper. You know..one of those. Oh boy...
