NO BASHING or NEGATIVE ON MY THREAD OR YOU WILL BE REPORTED! THANK YOU! :)

Woman Faces $1,000 Fine For Pink Poodle

I wholly agree .... she was not harming the dog at all while at the same time supporting a very worthwhile cause! Good on her! :thumb:

This is absolutley absurd! The woman has not harmed the dog in any way. The officials that are responsible for issuing this fine need to think before they act.

$1,000 penalty fine? I really don't know what should I say... Should I laugh or cry?

Excuse me, $1,000... ???? *scratch my head* As the article written that she dye from organic product on her poodle is a harmless.

Is it because of animal abuse? If yes, then it would also child abuse if I allow my child to dye his hair, too?

Many teenagers dye from chemical product on their hair. What's about them? Is it illegal? Would their parents also pay $1,000 penalty fine, too?

Hard to beleive that they consider it as serious crime when there're legal to have declaw and dock tail and ears on their pets, skinned alive animal, not color on their pets?

*shake my head and scratch my head sigh*

She deserved it!

What part of the law didn't she understand?

It stated in the above article:

Douglas is accused of violating the city's code that says "No person shall dye or color live fowl, rabbits, or any other animals." It’s a code meant to keep people from dyeing rabbits and chicks at Easter

Last time I checked, a dog is an animal. :cool2:

Of course, most human's hair dye are non-organic, that contains chemical and bleach on it, that much worse than organic dye, I used had full hair dye and feel so sticky after wash it out then I hate it and decided to not dye anymore.

I feel bad for woman about got $1,000 fine for dye her dog, if dye contain organic then it's not harm to pets or animals, that's right.

I hope that she will win the lawsuit.

Did you finish reading your statement, Byrdie? You know, sodomy is still a prohibited activity on the books, but the law is applied with a little common sense, and with intent in mind. Wouldn't this world be lovely if everything was as black and white as you seem to think it is. I think I know know why you are working as a "cove keeper" rather than as the attroney you claim to be.

I agree.

What she should have done was talked with the mayor or city officials to get permission before doing the dye-job.

"Sir, I have a document that confirms that I will be using organic product and another document that confirms that these organic products will NOT harm animals."

On the other hand, maybe the law was not made for the sole purpose of protecting animals from the harmful chemicals in dye... but to ensure that animals are not "modified" in any way except for haircut and medical purposes.

Actually, humans respond to dye differently than animals.

Animals have full-body hair while humans only have it on top of their heads.

It is also discouraged for pregnant women to dye their hair... kinda like getting a tattoo while a woman is pregnant. There are always risks, but animals are at greater risk.

yea u r right abt that but i havent hear any law for cant let dye on animals.. u know what i mean??

I wonder how old that law is.. we still have some stupid old laws that are still on the book just not enforced.

The law was overturned by SCOTUS in the Lawrence vs. Texas decision.

Don't believe me? Here you go: LAWRENCE V. TEXAS

I think they fined her, because pets have no POWER, no VOICE, and NO DECISION MAKING. They are not like "ARF ARF I WANT DYE ON MY HAIR PLEASE" or something like that. I think animal should leave it naturally, no dye, no additional colors, or something to make dog looks different. If you think pink dog is ok, that means I can bleach my black dog into blonde?

Bleach DOES have the potential to harm a dog. Beet juice, on the other hand, might taste a little on the foul side, but it's not HARMFUL or ABUSIVE in any way.

It's insane that they chase after her for such a minor thing, when there are countless people beating and abusing animals. Why target someone who is taking good care of their pets?

Do they have to investigate every dog/cat to find out what materials they use to dye the pet? That would be wasteful of time.

I just thought the dog was soooo cute!!! :) I don't think we have any laws here in my state but I never thought it was illegal. If its illegal in her state then its illegal. but the dog is cute!
