I have a Nokia cell phone and the company I use to pay for the calls is for Cingular Wireless.

Some of you may have cell phones (made for the deaf/HOH and/or hearing people), so here's the thread where you can talk about, complain about, or just gush about your cell phones and/or companies you are paying for the bills with the phones!

Nancy (who have to pay approx. $37.00 every month and what cost the most is the TAX!!! )
 
I, too, have a Nokia Cell Phone which is very popular in Australia. My provider is Optus. My mother foots the bill, and between us the bill cost about $30 per month or so, I think :dunno: .

Actually, I think the cell phone is a great technology because you can text message anyone.

But the gripe I have with the provider is that I cannot text message friends in countries such as Japan, Israel etc. Grr.. I guess it depends on the SIM card *sigh*

Wondering if text message would work if I sent it to America from Australia?

How fast to receive text messages I thought about getting Nokia 6820
 
I have Cingular, and I use it for text messaging. My only complaint is - they don't have a plan for the deaf and hard of hearing. I pay the regular monthly fee...hubby, who uses his for voice calls, pays for the calls he makes, and we pay an additional $9.99 for 750 text messages per month. It's not a bad plan, but it's REAL easy to go over that amount, and after that, it's 10 cents per message, incoming AND outgoing. Gets to be kinda crazy and I've had to tell some people to slow down on messaging.

What would be nice is UNLIMITED text messages, so that a person only pays one price to send/receive as many messages as they want to. I can receive text messages from AOL/AIM users, Sidekick users and other mobile phone users.

Always willing to experiment - PM me if you need help or just want to see if your phone has TM capabilities from where you are to where I am. :)
 
This worst is alltel. they don't even have 1 phone with a full keyboard. I had to buy a verizon phone that worked on the same network as alltel so I could have something with a full keyboard

Look at me. I don't have telephone but only cell phone. So, why bother buy both service if cell phone can make call with TDD. Take it with you anywhere. Save money. :)
 
Do you know and have you heard a new called OGO AT&T Wireless from. But, that is a new will be avaiable in October 2004. I still looking for what look alike. I can't find it. Yes, it is part of text message. My parent didn't good sign language what my Dad say. So, I will find out next month. He say it about 25 every month by bill.
 
Treo 600 from Sprint. More than just a wireless phone, having the capability to use email, pager, phone, internet, calendar and more. I don't recall the cost per month offhand, though I know there are data only plans and voice plans with unlimited data plans.

I use the same setup.

$35.00 a month calling plan (which I almost never use)
$15 unlimited data, that includes unlimited SMS *

To my knowledge, you can't get the unlimited data without a calling plan. :(

* Sprint charges more for unlimited SMS now, I got grandfathered in.

Is that what this new called OGO? I am not sure about it. Let me know.
 
Yes, it is a true. That is what my DAd say me. It is a new part of wireless. You have to go look at site something. I don't know. It up coming in October. I am waiting to get one for that. I am sorry that I can't explain to you why what my Dad say me.

Bluetooth and WiFi only. Does not have pager functionality. Looks nice, but FRAGILE. 3 hours of battery life, undocked. It's a PDA replacement, but not a PDA PHONE replacement. I'd use this if I were comfortable trading in my laptop for a 5" screen computer, but I don't think the majority of laptop users would sacrifice that. I think Palm Pilot users would upgrade, though.

Finally, thank you for found!!!!! Because my dad wrong sign spelling. NOt OGO. It is O (Q) O!! That is why he didn't remember the miss spelling sign. Crazy man!!! Thank you. But, that is what called AT&T talk about what she told my Dad say me. That is a new. It say 25.00 every month. Cool!
 
no, not OQO, ogo is correct...

The ogo is a new messaging-only device AT&T Wireless is going to launch at the end of September... retail price around $99 (after mail-in rebate), and monthly charge of $14.99 (exisiting AT&T Wireless Customer) or $17.99 (new customer) for unlimited Instant Messaging, SMS, and e-mail. Has all three of the major portals - AOL, Yahoo! and MSN....

The OQO is not for texting. It uses only bluetooth and 802.11 wifi so you can hook it up to computers and some cell phones, but it cannot get text messages on its own (maybe with aim and a bluetooth cellular device it might)

As for the Treo, I tried using the treo before, but the keypad is just too small to text on. I could barely fit my fingers on the keypad to hit the buttons i wanted. And I don't even have big hands for a guy. Its a nice idea, but the nokia with the qwerty keypad seems to be a better option for texting than the treo.
 
Finally, thank you for found the OGO. NOt OQO! Thank very much! Yes it is a new part of this OGO. That is what my Dad told me so. I think he already order. I am not sure. I hope so far. I can't wait to see!!!
