Its all based on the concept of paternalism.  Hearing people have to take care of deaf people because they can't hear, so it must mean that they are not as capable as hearing people.  So the hearing have to step in and tell them what is good for them, because they can't possiblly know for themselves.:rl:  And be sure to eat your vegetables and brush your teeth after every meal.
