I had known this girl is from my high school, she had schizophernic since teenage and alumni of RIT. I found that she told me she never proud of deaf school or not go deaf evbents. Even keeping talk about hearing people? In fact, she is fully deaf but grew up in mainstream before transfer back to my school. Often? It is annoyed me that she always obsessed with hearing friends. It can't really help to stop her because she suffered from schizophernic. No surprise she is still when she return from rit...she always tell me about hearing people is really different from deaf and some had no interesting in deaf but what she believe or think of. Often, she talk pointless when chat in restaraunt or mall like talk about her life or friends which not believe...one thing she believe lots of hearing friends like or talk to her on facebook under comments or said lots on listed. But I do not know how...is possible how hearing is interested in deaf but some can't sign? Now, any you know of schizopherniza who fear or bizarre behavior toward deaf people like rumor can hurt her but not true...it is hard for her being life with this schizopherniza.

I think I know why she prefer to socialize with hearing friends and why she became schizophrenia. it can be caused by one person who keeps bothering her and get fixated on her.

awful.

can you tell me why she prefer to socialize with hearing friends...wow, I never thought of hearing but what if hearing can not be bear with deaf who bother hearing people?

maybe she has bad experience with deaf guys. that's why it's important for you to show positive experience.

then she will find other hearing people who like deaf people

Schizophrenia has both a genetic component and an environmental component. The genetic disposition is inherited. Something traumatic sets off the psychotic episodes. The trigger may be traumatic from that person's point of view and not necessarily traumatic to a "average" person. It's a devastating disease.

A person chooses friends with whom she feels comfortable. You don't need to monitor her social behavior and to do so is control-freaky.

that's her decide who she wants to hang out with. it's just how she feels.

I dont think she is formally diagnosed as having schizophrenia.

There is a chromosome 22 syndrome where many people become scheziophernic.....but I can't remember if it is also a dhh syndrome too.
