Jeremy (my husband) made a phone call to Indiana health department about doctor because they thought I didnt have a doctor so they chose one for me. Anyways..Jeremy told them that I already have a doctor myself so they changed it. Then the lady who interviewed us there the other day.. well she called and wanted to talk to me about somthing... Jeremy said, "Umm... didn't you know that she's deaf?" She thougt that he was lying about my deafness so he proved her wrong by telling her about my deafness and that I wear hearing aid on my left ear... (she saw my right ear the other day and thought he was lying about my deafness.. doh I don't wear the hearing aid on my right ear. She was so embrassed and said sorry then ended the conversation. Geez.. some people can be so STUPID... how can they think he is lying about my deafness??? Duh didn't thy check to see my left ear and see that I wear an hearing aid?? And didnt they figure it out when I was using sign languge with Jeremy?? She thought I was mentally retarded or somethng. :roll: And D'oh..some people should know that not all deaf people have hearing aids ... some of them dont even wear it.. or that have coclear implants. I laughed when Jeremy said, "D'oh.. some people can be so stupid!!!!! Why can't they figure it out or something????" Jeremy gave the lady the relay numberand she can call me through relay service anytime. I bet she felt so stupid and embrassed now.

some people are so out of it!!!! I once went to M.E.E.I in Boston and got my hearing tested by this REALLY out of it audi. She kept asking me if I'd ever had speech therapy and if my teachers knew about my being hoh!!! (Hello! I'd been seeing a speechie since I was three, and I had something called an IEP in school!!! !)

Yes, I have dealt with some stupid people in my life. They kept asking me if I can drive.. DUH I can drive!! If they want to learn about Deaf culture, go take ASL class and meet otherr Deaf people, etc.. gee.. I have to educate some people about my deafness, etc.. it is so weary for me.
