I'm currently moving over 67,000 mph! :eek:

Why aren't my eyes in the back of my head? ;)

the speed the earth rotates or something? or ummm drugs?? :laugh2:

man i thought i was beginning to hallucinate again after reading vampy's post.

Are you talking about speed of earth spinning and moving around sun.

Does that include sun moving around in the galaxy and galaxy moving also? If it was, I would think it'll be alot faster than 67,000 miles per hour.

You're right...

I calculated the speed of Earth's rotation itself and Earth's speed around the Sun. That's the speed I'm going right now around this time of night. :)

(It's not exact, but close.)

Since we don't have an answer for how fast the Milky Way is really going and how fast the Milky Way is going itself, it's hard to determine our actual speed. :)

According to this website - Earth Speeds - EnchantedLearning.com

here are the specs if true;

Earth rotation at equator = 24,900 Miles per hour

Earth around the sun = 18.5 MP/second - Notice that is it's seconds, not hours which will make it 1110 MP/Minutes which in hours would be 66,600 miles per hour.

Sun moving around in galaxy = 155 MP/seconds

Galaxy moving = 185 MP/seconds.

Amazing! On how fast we are actually moving! I can imagine if the earth made a sudden halt! We would be flung off to infinity. :shock:

If you're at the magnetic North or South Pole, then you aren't going 67,000. And you're going the fastest if you are within 20 degrees of the equator.

Yep! I just knew Mother Earth was evil.
