Wirelessly posted (ZTE X501 Phone)

This is downright EMBARRASSING.

Just a hint here ... if you want to post a link click the icon up top that looks like the earth with a chain in front of it ... that will bring up a box for you to paste the URL in to ... such as this:

Google

then if a person wants to read posted link all they have to do is click on it and it will open in another window/tab ...

Sorry. This came directly from my phone, and was posted on the AllDeaf mobile site. It was easier to do it that way, but I will take your suggestion into consideration for the next time I find an unusual story, okay?

Was merely a suggestion how to use the forum more efficiently and more user friendly to the other users ... if you use it or not is up to you.

I'll work on that. In fact, it'll be near the top of the list for 2014:

"Make my threads more user friendly when posting new threads"

Something like that.

If you're going to work with computers and their users, then you should learn and use these techniques so you can help others to get more out of their computers, too.

That's the idea. I'll probably use my laptop for posting threads with links included, but as for posting a regular thread with no links included, I'm probably going to use my phone for that.

Now, there are probably various ways to help the AD users, but I do not know what the most common ones are; I haven't been here that long yet, but hopefully with time I'll figure it out, hopefully by the end of May (That would be a little more than 6 months since I showed up here).

I don't mean specifically AD members but the people whom you say you help with computer problems.

If you want to help people become power users, you have to be one first.

Oh, that. My bad. Yes, I have already helped a couple of people set up brand-new laptops, so that's not a bad start, and in the spring, I'm hoping to get a larger laptop, and make that a project of mine for the rest of the year, because I'd like to do some toying around with it, and see what I can come up with.

That was the reason why I started a thread about the possibility of buying a Windows 8 laptop, but a personal friend of mine, and an AD member here both said that Windows 8 has a lot of problems, which is making me consider other software to look for, and I'm hoping to get some answers sooner or later, cause I just answered The Highlander's question about the specs of this laptop (What I could find, anyways).
