who here likes hunting and fishing
I like to hunt deer, and any type of fish

I like fishing. :)

So do I. I took my five year old grandson fishing a few months ago, and it was his first time. We went out into a huge lake owned by a friend of mine, and I know it has bass so big you can put both your fists into a mouth without touching it. The kid had the time of his merry life. Even though he raised enough ruckus in the rowboat to scare all the fish in the lake, it turns out that bluegill are utterly fearless, since he caught ten of them.

That's cool, haha. I remember growing up with my dad fishing for salmon and trout mostly. We caught lot of pink salmon in Alaska with humpbacks but we put them back in the river because they are old salmon going upstream to spawn. We also caught about 20 dolly varden to make pickled fish....that was really goood! I haven't had that in years. :(

Blood sports don't appeal to me, but I don't mind if people do it for sustenance, so long as they're responsible about it.

Fishing is fun though: good opportunity to smoke a couple cigars and knock back a few brews. My friend and I went a few weeks ago. She caught a small bass, but we released it right away. We brought a flask of scotch along. Fun afternoon. ;)

I used to go fishing when I was young all the way through growing up into teenage. I had to go out in the boat and catches Sunfishes for dinner on every Friday all by myself. My grandparents were pretty strict Catholics as the Priest make them obey the rules of the Catholic Church. On our lake back then, we did not have Lake Trout, or Bass, not even Northern Pike unless you want to fish in another lake somewhere. :hmm: But I do like to fish very much, now that we are getting older and don't feel like fishing anymore. My husband tried to fish, but he was not a very good fisherman.

My grandfather hunts for ducks, deer, moose and also had to shoot black bear as he did not know he was in the bear territory. Wrong place in the wrong time. He never wanted to shoot the bear as it was very sacred bear. We used the wild animals for food on the table in the bush. To you, it is backward country in the woods. I will always cherish the memories of growing up in the bush and loved it very much. I am glad that I am living in the bush with my husband here. This is where I belong, not in the cities or city. :)

mmm, my brother in law Tom hunts and so does my nephew Philip. The guy that I'm dating now does a bit of fishing. My brother fishes but he always throws them back into the ocean.
I've eaten venison and I want to try other game meats. One day I will get the chance to do that.

If I were to take up hunting, I'd hunt birds like duck and I'd also hunt deer and rabbits.

We no longer go fishing much, but it's due to finances and hubby's preferences. When we first got married, we went out in the boat fishing most every weekend. We always fish responsibly and I don't allow hunting.
