WHITE BREAD

1/2 stick butter
1/4 c. sugar
1 1/2 tbsp. salt
4 c. hot water (hottest tap water)
1/4 c. dry milk powder
2 pkgs. yeast
5-10 c. white flour

In 8 quart large bowl, put butter, sugar, salt and hot water. Stir in 2 packages dry yeast. Add 1/4 cup milk powder. Add flour gradually. Knead well. Turn out on floured board. Let dough rise in warm place, about 2 hours. Grease bread pans. Divide dough into 3 loaves. Let it rise another 45 minutes or until double in bulk. 375 degrees, 45 minutes.

Where's the 'wheat'? ;)

Also, when placing bread in the oven, you sure want to make sure that the surrounding area is quiet, no jumping, banging about cupboards, etc., otherwise the bread dough will deflate...I sure can remember when my Mom made bread and I had specific orders to stay outside or downstairs until the bread was done baking....oh, weren't those gooooood!!

I agreed with you...I love wheat bread...I am not crazy over white bread only for french toast.

I bake different breads (white and wheat, rye, etc) but I see your receipt of white bread is total different as mine...

I will add it later when I finish with translation into German...

whitebread is only good for crusty bread like french bread.....
