here link that what I follow step by step. and find it really helpful & easy
> Windows to Ubuntu
No, one of three kinds of Linux
If so,Which Linux packages include KDE ?
What distro do you use? I have an Atheros too and know how to get it to work.Ubuntu is one of them (Depending which Ubuntu you use like EduBuntu or whatever uses KDE while Ubuntu use Gnome).
Many Live CD Linuxes which are Knoppix Live CD. DSL Live CD(Damn Small Linux), Puppy Linux Live CD, Slax Linux Live CD ect. Knoppix use KDE, DSL use IceWin. Slax Live CD use Gnome. Puppy Linux use Gnome There are plenty of distros u can find. It depends on what flavor you like. Also downloading and installing apps in Linux distro are varied different individually. Like Gzip or TarGz ect.. If one Linux is easy for you to use. Use it. Sometime one Linux have better application compatibilty than other. Some appls already included in it's package. It all depends on what hardware you have on your PC or Laptop. Wireless adapter have compatibilty issue depending what brand that Linux can work with. I've never tried getting Linux work with my Atheros wireless adapter in my laptop. It says it's 100% Linux compatible but I haven't configure it. I'm just newbie too.
Good Luck

Well, good luck, because I had a bunch of weird problems with SuSE 10.1z, like my mouse not working at all (I don't know why, and I've been using Linux for 3 years...)Thanks and a question. Can I use my x1600 pro video chipset under linux ?
I'm thinking of installing Suse 10.1 currently .
