How much can you afford per month for your own internet access? So we can know which one we can find that fits your budget.

I am thinking more like $89.00 or so a month Verizon has tv phone and Internet for thanprice. They also have 79.00 for tv and Internet what's missing is Internet and phone lol I hardly watch tv pnly football games something to think about.

For the long term, it's hard to find a package less than $100 a month. We currently pay $80 a month for 5 rooms under DirecTV and that's not including internet which costs $55 a month under seperate company. Worse case is get rabbit ears and watch free football on local TV channels and pay for internet and phone alone. :)

You can check how much it costs for cable based internet in your area, they might offer a deal for 1 or 2 years if you stick around in the area. I have cable internet, it's pretty fast but not insane fast.

Verizon is the one I saw said something about 2 year agreement. I saw it on their website from my iPhone . My tiny screen and keyboard can only do so much. I wanted Internet to apply for jobs freely in my home w out going to the computer room here only open in the day time blah

How about trying check with Verizon to see if they offer wifi mobile hot spot to connect your laptop, as long you don't use it often or you would be charged for bandwidth use. I don't know about Verizon's data cap but AT&T is 5 GB per month data cap. My cable internet is 250 GB data cap, I will never reach that anyway.

Dish and Directv only offer satellite TV only, so they don't offer internet service.

If you live in LA, your cable company may be Time Warner.

The data cap for Verizon Wireless is 2 GB, but you can upgrade to 5 GB for additional monthly fee.

Verizon and Verizon Wireless are different.

I have Verizon FIOS. I love it, I currently have the Triple Play (cable/internet/phone).

They have a 2 year plan going on now for $89.99 a month that offers 15/5 Mbps INTERNET + PRIME HD TV + PHONE. I pay around $150 a month, since I have extra HD boxes and a DVR. (got 5 HDTVs in my house)

Compared to Time Warners which was running $200+ a month. Verizon FIOS was the better deal for me. Not only that, Time Warners had so many bottleneck that it drove me nuts when I download things. A simple download that should take 30 minutes, at times ends up taking 8 HOURS. I don't have that issue with Verizon FIOS. If something takes 30 minutes to download, it takes exactly 30 minutes.

I am seriously thinking of dropping cable/phone tho. Just use Internet. If I go this route, my bill will probably drop to around $75 a month. Instead of going with the 15/5 Internet, I would upgrade it to the 50/25 Internet. I do alot of uploading and downloading. (steaming videos and what not.) I'll save more money by getting netflix and hulu for the shows I like to watch.

Just to point out, they connect a Fiber-Optic wire directly to your house/apartment. Their main Fiber-Optic Panel has to be within 20 feet of the Electrical Panel. Unlike Time Warners that uses cable lines.

They give you a wireless router as part of the package. Their router converts the coaxial-supplied internet signal out to ethernet, and I have a D-Link DIR-655 Extreme Gaming Router that I connect directly to it. My main computer is wired, and everything else in my house is running wireless.

I was thinking of getting Verizon since I am familiar with it the double package of tv and Internet might work $79.00 month. The Internet is for my laptop and I want wireless got to check how that works out w/ Verizon. Thank you so much for your help :)
