Hi,
I am presently a Freelance Spanish Medical Interpreter in the Boston area and am looking to master ASL as fast as I can! I am taking 2 classes right now but I'd like to have more of an immersion experience. Perhaps I could hang out with Deafies. Any suggestions? THANK YOU!
Annie

Hi

Welcome to ALLDeaf and enjoy your stay here

Hi Annie,
I live in the Boston area (actually northeast of Boston). I go to Grace Chapel when I can in Lexington. They have an ASL Interpreted service at 9:30 AM, an all ASL Bible Study following (at 11:10 AM), and a Deaf-Sponsored movie night once a month. The next one is April 28 at 6:30.
Also, this is an event that I have not yet gone to, but heard about on http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Mass_Deaf-Terp/:
"Hi Wendy,
I'm glad you are interested in the gathering. Yes, all student of all levels are welcome to the gatherings. However, this is a voice-off gathering. This way we respect the Deaf and also practice our signs. Hope you will join us next month on May 6th for our next gathering. It runs from 1-3pm at the food court on the second floor at the Rockingham Mall in Salem NH.
Thanks
Cynthia"
Hope this helps,
Wendy
