I grew up there on the island of Oahu, then moved to western MD.
Lots to do, though.... laidback people.... with a little aloha... 
Let me know if you all are planning on going to Hawaii.. I can give you my recommendation on what to do, and where to go. I even know a few close deaf friends there, that you might want to hang out with. They could give you a tour. 
I want to go to Egypt, Peru, Mexico, Spain, France, England, Puertro Rico, Africa, Ireland, Scotland, Palau, Saipan, Japan... you name it! Oh yes and even the moon!! Perhaps even Nibiru. Ha.
I wanna go on a world cruise.. but damn those are expensive.
