Where do you usually use your laptop?

That is, do you actually set your laptop computer on your lap?

Or do you set it on a desk, or use a lap desk? Set it on the floor or a coffee table? Prop it up on a pillow on your bed?

Just a question of curiosity. :giggle:

I was searching for a lap desk for my MacBook Pro, and it got me to thinking about it.

I have mine on an old hospital table that goes over the arm of the sofa. And then it is hooked up to a really large monitor, that sits to the side.

Very practical set up. :)

The company I was bookkeeper for for 33 odd years had several company officers that were also associated with nursing home management and we as a construction company built several. Thus, we wound of using several of these tables for typewriter stands in the earlier years.

I got it in an antique store, and it is the most perfect thing I have found for my usage.

As far as the original question is concerned, I am on my second laptop; both of which have been used on a computer desk (built-in keyboard tray) with a full sized keyboard attached as well as things like printer & scanner. I do enjoy the ability to take just the laptop along places at times.

I usually have my netbook on a lap desk that has the cushioned bolsters underneath, that I use when I'm sitting on the family room couch. Sometimes I set the lap desk on my ottoman, and sometimes I actually use it on my lap.

My MacBook Pro usually sits on my big desk in the upstairs office.

Sometimes I use my MacBook in bed, so I ordered a bamboo lap desk with slide out mouse pad for that use.

I admit, I don't like the touch pads, so I need solid areas for my mouse on each computer.

I'm a sucker for accessories and gadgets. :giggle:

Good idea. :)

I like the portability factor, too.

I have wireless printers for the laptops so that I can print from any room.

Son uses my netbook and is all over with it. Floor, ottoman, chair, lap, bed, kitchen table, portable table, just anywhere he feels like being at the time. He likes the touchpad, but I hat it. I have to use the mouse if I use it.

Must be nice to be young and flexible, huh? :giggle:

The dining room table. We have a an "open" floor plan. It sort of L shaped. Though my husband is in the living room, I sit next to him in the dining room.

It is handy there. I can whisk it away from grandkids easily. lol

Mine is almost always on my coffee table in front of the TV. (The TV isn't always on.) I sometimes bring it up to my desk if I'm working intensely on a project. I even bring it out to the garage occasionally if we're all hanging out there -- the guys are doing their "manly" stuff  and the girl is checking out FB or AD :)

When you have it on the coffee table, do you sit on the floor, or on a couch, or...?

Both, actually. On the couch, I kind of have to hunch over. On the floor, I can sit straight up (with the couch as back support). I don't mind the floor at all.

I use it all over the place. At school, home, public library, etc.

In my lap if I'm sitting in easy chair, on desk if I plug in display port to my large monitor (and charge it up at the same time). Also on end table in living room. Anywhere, really. 13" MacBook Pros are very portable! :)
