Mozilla from the earliest days of the Netscape browser, the code engine that actually took care of interpreting HTML, (later) JavaScript and (still later) CSS was called Mozilla. This strange name started out as a combination of Mosaic and Godzilla.
Almost every browser identification string still starts with the name Mozilla, When the project to write a new Netscape code engine started, it was named The Mozilla Project. One would expect the goal of this project was to produce Mozilla 5, being the fifth and all the late version of the Netscape code engine, and firefox code engine too.
I bet you were just wondering about Netscape and Mozilla where they come from?! me too!
