Doesn't hometown mean the city where you born, grew up or currently still live there? I don't live in my hometown anymore, I left my hometown decades ago. I live in a different city right now. Are you asking people that you wanted to know how much home costs in their hometowns that they used to live in or still live there?

Okay thanks, Galaxyangel for clarifying.

Here in Seattle, WA

The house prices range from $200,000 to more than $1 million
The condo prices range from $100,000 to more than $1 million

The good homes usually range between $400,000 to $600,000. (That's my estimate)

The median home values are around $380,000 and rising.

The population is 578,000 as of 2006.

I don't know about the population in the Madison County in North Alabama

houses range from 40,000 to 700,000 *my guess*
the 40,000 are mostly old houses in or around the projects.
700,000 would be around the hospital districts.

what I'm looking for is around 100,000 to 180,000 for a nice new country home. that can include 5 acres of land.. most are in 1 acre or less.

we saw a house that had 5 acres of land, with stable barn, huge detached garage, 4 bedrooms 2 baths and attached garage for 150,000. that was the cheapest i could find with a great deal! but someone already bought it. go figure.

Lowcountry of South Carolina (that includes Charleston, Dorchester, and Berkeley counties; the whole area "blends" together).

What year did you purchased your house and settled new home?
We bought our house in 1990. It cost $112,000. Now it's worth about $195,000. It's 2,189 sq.ft., two-story, 4 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, attached 2-car garage (to give you an idea of what you get for the money).

How many population in your homearea ?
The region, which covers nearly 3,200 square miles (8,200 square
kilometers), has a population of more than 583,000.

in my area, about 180k to up. Huge houses cost about 300k to up. Luxary houses cost about 700k to million dollars.

Under 170k, there will have townhouse or condo to own and ugly old houses.

Average cost of houses: $400k to $500k. The house boom just went bust now cuz no one can afford those prices anymore. So the prices are slowly coming down now.

Hometown: San Diego, CA

Population: about 2 million souls catching sun rays to get a nice tan. :P

U know what? I was taking my son out for a walk today and I went through the neighborhood since I am new here having moved to this area a few months ago. Anyways, there were a couple of "For Sale" signs on some pretty townhouses with brochures. I grabbed a few and my jaw went :jaw: at the prices of those townhouses. They werent luxury townhouses, just regular 3 bedroom and 2 bathroom townhouses around 1300 square feet. The average price of all 3 was around $350K. Damn....and to add on top of that, this area is not a fancy area.

Overpriced houses :rl:

I would grab any townhouse in a decent neighborhood if it was selling for 170K!!!! :pissed:

The average cost for houses in San Diego is $400K to $500K?? Is that for single family homes?? I thought the costs were higher than that? Guess MD is the same as San Deigo now. Geeee

Growing up, I always dreamed of living in SD. I love it there.
