What words are common use now that were not used 20 years ago?

This is just for some random thoughts.

What words are common use now that were not used 20 years ago?

There are some words that comes up in my head --

Text Me, Im Me, Google it are expressions that didn't exist 20 years ago.

How about "bailout" and "weapons of mass destruction" and "Epic".
 
I've seen plentyful of 'Epic fails' :lol:

20 years ago would be 1989, si?
 
1. "war on terror"

2. chatroom

3. link (as in a web link)

4. diva

5. ipod

6. flatscreen (as in flatscreen tv)

7. dvd

8. blu-ray

9. playstation

10. the expression "NOT." (as in, "he is SO cute. NOT!")

11. the expression "psych!" (as in, "i'm just kidding.")

12. the expression "talk to the hand"

13. the expression "uber" (as in "uber cool")

Obviously, We see a lot of words that are used which is internet related.

What about words that are not internet related?
 
1. Scrolling (Wheel mouse)
2. Palm/Treo type touchscreen
3. em pee three
4. download (just barely probably made it, or not)
5. Remote-start

Actually, to be honest the internet used to exist as some form of army/cia form of communication or something, prior to its growing popularity in the 90's. I can't remember where I saw it, but I do remember them stating explicitly it was used for "army" purposes or something.

Cellphones?

cell phones (or more accurately, car phones) were around in 1989. they were very expensive and bulky, but they were still around during the 80s.
 
That car phones doesn't exist anymore :lol:

Most of the cellphones today are now connected to bluetooth devices.
 
remote start, such as remote control to unlock car locks, open the garage door, turn on the TV etc
 
Starting your vehicle with the press of a button! And yeah, most of the other things JC mentioned.
