I’ve been self-studying ASL on the Internet for almost a year. I was told this is the time required to start signing and comprehend the language. I feel like this is not completely true. I’ve learned a lot. I know a good amount of vocabulary. I can sometimes understand what a signer is saying, at least the spirit of the conversation. However, I have to say, sometimes I feel lost and I don’t like this sensation. To change this, I made a decision to study ASL with Troy University. I want become a better signer and, most importantly, understand my deaf friends.

I'm completely deaf on my right ear, starting to lose hearing on my left ear. I'm truly committed to learning ASL.

Look forward to this site.
