What is up with full value on gift card??

I was on Facebook and I saw that someone was asking $50 cash for a $50 Starbucks gift card. I was thinking that they're unrealistic. No offense, but why would I want to give someone $50 for a $50 Starbucks gift card? I can just run to Starbucks and spend $50 for a $50 gift card.

What are people thinking when they ask for full value on gift card?

I guess they think people are stupid, because the gift card could had been used and be worth less that $50.
