Hello all, this is literally the first time I have ever associated with being part of the deaf community. I lost my hearing drastically at 15 years of age and by the time I was 20 it was 80% gone. My brother had severe loss as well at a young age so it was easier for me to understand what was happening to me.
Long story short, 4 pairs of hearing aids later, Im opening myself up to the family that I know is out there that can relate to my life better than most.
Maybe Ill learn sign language next.
I do pretty well in one on one conversations between being pretty good at lip reading and my hearing aids, but you know...excuse me?
