"Lower than animal" is an conflict in one's prideful opinion. It's like back in high school days where bully got their way at most of times. "If you don't fight, you're lower than animal" as a way to control someone. I'm sure someone are trying to undermine one's desire by insulting them and to have them avoid achieving their desires. We're at mental war, constantly finding a way to win something, or to make one's seem better than others. In my opinion, to be deaf has a reason. Maybe tasteful way to shape world the way it is?
Anyway about animals themselves, EVERY existance has its own ability to do something that others doesn't. Humans' unique talent is the sophicated way of how we operate things.
