I learned that I'm the SME (subject matter expert) for the work I'm helping out with.  Boy, are we in trouble.  The real SME is out on vacation.  Her "backup" is out on disability leave.  They have a new guy learning the ropes, but he's not up to snuff yet and somehow I'm considered the SME.
