If some of you remember I had changed Audi's because I had thought that my old audi wasn't being forth with me with what hearing aid was best for me and what not. So I left him and went to a company I really loved to be at. I felt good going there when I had to go and they were always honest with me. But then they went under and had to close their doors and the only other Starkey dealer in town was my old audi. I had put off my appointment for months to go back there and get my HAs serviced and cleaned because I was nervous to see him again.
As I thought I was feeling weird when I went back, his wife (who is also their secretary) straight away asked about why I left them and went to the other place. I kind of danced around the issue so it didn't feel so awkward. Then my audi came out and we went and plugged my aids in and he made some adjustments and took new impressions for the new molds Im getting.
He slyly threw some low punches about the new aids I had and the ones he would have put me in that would have cost me nothing. But when I was with him before he had those others pushed all the way to the max and never suggested putting me in aids that would benefit me losing more hearing. He never looked out for my best interest and now he was telling me that he could have done this better and that better??? SERIOUSLY?? Then after he screwed me out of nearly 2500.00 he is making me pay for the new molds.. ughh, so since then my Menieres has been terrible and I have an ear infection, what a bad week..

that reallyyyyy sucks is there any audi u can drive further to see? I would drive 2-3 hours away if I had to for my audi..she is amazinggggggggg

Yeah there is Alicia but the problem is all the servicing and my cleanings and everything dont cost with him because everything had been moved back over. If I went somewhere else my insurance doesnt cover that stuff, just the cost of the hearing aid.. I guess I will deal with it till I need new ones down the road =/

That does totally sucks! Wish your insurance can cover it somewhere else!

ya that does really suck...sorry bout the situation..how is the CI situation going for you?

Some people in the audiology are out for the money and it is too bad you had to have one of them.

Sorry to hear. :aw: I've been there and went to other place for 5 years and now things have changed since the economy are hurting. The hours have been cut back and he's not doing a good job like he used to. I'm still not going back to the other place bec that woman is so damn hyper and she took so much time with programming my digital hearing aids that didn't sound right at all. All that aggravation, I know. Oh yeah... I notice whatever the items are covered by the insurance they really over charge it. And some of the things aren't covered by the insurance they give you a break. :ugh3:

I have waited on the CI right now... Just because I am trying to figure out who I can trust and who I cannot. But if my menieres is getting any worse im just going to have to go through with it reguardless, ive literally been in bed the last 2 days... ugh..

Why do you think you shouldn't have to pay for the new molds?

He put me in hearing aids that werent right for me and charged me 5600 for them in which he never gave me ANY molds the whole time I was there. I had to go to another audi to get what I needed, you would think since he screwed me out of a significant amount of money he wouldnt have charged me anything since he didnt give me the right product in the first place... its the point.

I had to trade the hearing aids he gave me in at a 40% refund and I had to pay another 3200 I think on top of it, so all in all in one years time I paid over 8000 on hearing aids that could have been solved the first time if my first audi would have done his job instead of thinking about the money he was getting for the NEW hearing aids that didnt require molds and were an open fit...

that sux. What was wrong with the ha's he sold you?

He knew that my hearing was dropping and put me in an open fit hearind aid that was made for moderate/moderate severe hearing loss.. I wouldnt be able to hear anything right now with the hearing aids he had me in at first...

Wow, it seems like when he sold you the first hearing aids, and it didn't work out well for you... so that you had to go back to him to get another new hearing aids... that is more money for you to spend on.

It sounds like he did it on purpose to make customers come back and complain and then make them to spend more money for another new hearing aids.

That's pretty sucks for sure.

If you guys knew the "At Cost" prices for the HA/CI's I think there would be a huge public uproar... But as long people are happy, the audi's will just keep jacking the price...
