Radiation from H+ atoms? Only if it were combined with another Hydrogen to create Helium - hard to see it happening from that stance, but it can happen if the ship runs into Hydrogen at the speed of light knocking out the proton cores of larger elements the ship is made of making the ship itself a nuke bomb. This is my guess, who the hell knows. LOL

You know how radiation works... right? They work by passing through your body at a very high speed. At warp speed or at the speed of light, hydrogen protons and electrons will be going through the ship... and your own body-- so at that speed it IS radioactive to US.

Think about what's gng on in the sun - Hydrogen combines with another to form helium. Since the Helium has a lower energy level than the fast traveling Hydrogen, it emits the extra energy as radiation. That's what I understand. So how do high speed H+ atoms merely passing through emit radiation?

An analogy... the penny:

A penny wouldn't kill you if someone threw one at you, but if someone was to drop one off the CN Tower (or the Empire State Building), it becomes lethal.

That's all radiation is... atoms travelling at a high speed passing through objects.

I see, at the proton level really messing things up. Reactions we primarily observe on Earth are lower speed at the electron level - merely a scratch of heat transfer.
 
Didn't those spaceships have a "warp bubble" to prevent them from any external damage or whatever?

that penny thing is a myth.... although its dropped from that heigth it will never travel faster than its terminal velocity which is reached way before it reaches the ground. Additionally the terminal velocity of a penny has been proven that it is not lethal.

Keep in mind you have to assume the same anology as the penny traveling towards you at light speed. We're not talking about whole atoms displaced, at that speed we're talking whole atoms (proton nuclei) disintegrating.
 
Why don't they just shoot a penny with enough inhertia to get to near the speed of light to see what happens to the penny? :laugh2:
